Some of these films seem to center around a particular company, like Greyhound Bus Lines, and be essentially an infomercial for that company. My question is, the Greyhound people went out and spent time and effort on a lavi--well, OK, not lavish, but semi comptetent film showing two women travelling across the country. Now where would someone have watched this film? Who was it aimed at? If it was shown in theaters, how did Greyhound get the theater owners to show it?

The huge Shell oil company had its own film unit producing high quality documentary short films. Many of their films won awards and were shown in the big movie palaces.
